Impressive Estate Tiffany Designer George Schuler (Preformed Parts) 1950s Turquoise Diamond 18k Gold Clip Back Earrings
Description: 14k yellow-gold Turquoise and diamond clipback earrings set in anemone-form mount (as was typical of Tiffany jewelry)
and set with six roud brilliant cut VS quality diamonds and eleven oval cabachon turquiose stones.
The earrings are stamped with the 14k gold mark, the PP maker's mark (for Preformed Parts, Inc.), and the patent number 2423905 mark. The designer, George Schuler was in business (520 Bedford Rd. Pleasantville NY) from 1908 to 1965, specializing in high end gold jewelry which was sold by Cartier, Neiman Marcus, Tiffany and others. He was awarded the patent in 1947 for his special style of clips on earrings which made the earrings very comfortable to wear, as they would not put any strain on the ear. I have tested this out and it is true! They are remarkable earring backs that feel comfortable... where is George Shuler now?! He would shutter to think of the cruel omega clips we use on our ears ... we could sure use someone to start making these again!
